Red Pill or Blue Pill?
What’s Your Choice?
Many will be familiar with the phrase “Red Pill or Blue Pill”, which originates in the 1999 iconic movie, “The Matrix”. The dialogue came from Morpheos offering Neo a choice of the red pill, representing openness to life's harsh truth and realities. Whilst the blue pill stood for a decision to remain in total blissful ignorance...” head in the sand” syndrome I often call it.
So, what’s your choice?
The world has become highly fractious, culturally, economically and physiologically. And decisions have become more arduous due to the complexities of life.
For you, are your decisions based on “doing the right thing”, that being the perceived best choice that serves society or are you driven more to the “it’s right for me”?
The concepts come further into the debate when another quite famous film, “Sliding Doors”, a rom-com from 1998 which explored the possibilities of two parallel universes and a positive outcome, in this case, love, would be from a set of “correct” decisions.
Now, whether you believe in the possibility of parallel universes or not, the movie storyline does highlight how our decisions can, and will, ultimately end with different outcomes in life.
