Go Get Your Skinny Gene’s On…
Time To Get Fighting Fit?
As we near the Christmas celebrations, I doubt many are thinking a great deal about diets, more likely forward planning for the New Year schedule for dropping the winter food excesses.
The battle with food is a constant for many and keeping in mind it is scientifically proven that your genetic makeup can be a predisposition to weight gain, diet can be front of mind for a vast amount of the population.
On a personal level, I have always been classed as “big boned” thus accounting for my six-foot three-inch frame being on the chunky side…well that is what my mother said and who am I to argue?
Back in my early twenties, I weighed in at 23 stone (about 145 kilograms) and I don’t think a large percentage of that was skeletal mass because I had a snoring complaint, and subsequently visited a doctor.
I was labelled morbidly obese.
Now that kinda shocked me, but deep down, I knew I had a problem and to be honest, I enjoyed food…hell, I still do!
Anyway, I started to try and lose some timber, which was no easy task. Cutting down on all of those goodies and extra snacks, just felt like I was condemned in some way to never enjoy food at the levels I had become accustomed to.
