A Leap Of Faith?
When I Say Jump You JUMP!
Several decades ago, I had the honour of serving in the Royal Air Force and trained for the Police Regiment.
Now whilst it was a while ago, at the time I enlisted I was 26 years old, considered the “old man”, compared with other enlistees.
Military training is a special time, filled with lots of running around, marching up and down, playing with weapons, crawling through water tunnels and much much more lol.
One of the days of “running around” in the glorious sunny hills of Herefordshire, England, I will always remember with a smile haha.
Full kit including Bergen Backpack stacked with… ”supplies” (what we were expected to do with lots of bricks on this journey I could not quite figure…we set out for a “quick” 15-mile jaunt.
Yes, for once in this region, the weather was “kind” to us, the sun beating down helped to dry the sheets of sweat rolling off us all.
Even in my mid-twenties the physical challenges of military training were real, it was never a breeze…and that day oh how we could have done with a breeze!
